While some sufferers of social phobia manage to get by life without too much difficulty, some may struggle in controlling panic attacks and desperately need help. Other than common methods of treating social phobia such as behavioral therapy and antidepressants, self help methods can also be of help. Most of us may feel a little apprehensive in situations such as; going on a first date, going to a social gathering where you don’t know anyone, and introducing yourself in a new class. These experiences for social phobia sufferers are much more feared however.

They may experience anxiety symptoms and may even have an anxiety attack. When a person experiences anxiety they be seen as; uncomfortable, fidgety, jittery and shy. Often social phobia and shyness arises from past negative experiences. Living with this disorder reduces quality of life and health.

Many feel limited with both happiness and opportunities. Negative behaviors such as self-denigration, excessive worrying, hesitation and lack of confidence, lead to un-fulfillment and underachievement. Children with social anxiety often underachieve at school and this pattern can continue to adult life. Sufferers are likely to miss opportunities in life such as relationships and jobs.

Diagnosed cases of social anxiety disorder are either treated with medication or therapy, or a combination of both. Other methods for coping with panic attacks and anxiety include lifestyle changes and self help techniques. Constant thoughts of worry and too much self-conscious thinking can spark anxiety symptoms. When a person with social anxiety steps into a room full of strangers they begin having worrying thoughts about being nervous and looking nervous. They are likely to feel cornered and a need to escape.

Social anxiety often spirals out of control from a single thought of worry which then trigger sensations and more worry. It can be difficult to stop thoughts of worry and fear, but with practice it is possible to do so. Ways to do this are by practicing self help techniques such as positive visualizations and self-talk. Expose yourself daily to situations that make you uneasy so that you can gradually build more confidence.

Increase your inner potential by reading books that help you grow and develop. Anyone can learn to be more confident it’s just a habit. You can also learn to control your emotions by putting your attention on others. Relax and feel at ease in your own skin by realizing that the world doesn’t revolve around you. Try and meet with friends more often and communicate with people more at work. Get active; join a fitness class, go swimming or go for a hike.

Get into the habit of thinking about something good several times a day. Practice breathing exercises daily to give yourself a break from stress and tension. Take action and don’t just let stress and anxiety build up by ignoring it. Breath control is a simple method in countering feelings or anxiety and controlling panic attacks.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a meridian therapy which many people have claimed effectiveness in controlling panic attacks as well as other health problems. Emotional Freedom Technique treats energy imbalances in the body and deals with harmful thoughts through positive language. Unlike acupuncture, EFT uses a tapping technique to stimulate the body’s meridian points. By making the effort and taking action to overcome your fears day by day, anyone can overcome social phobia.

So…the question you have been “dieing” to ask and seek assurance from, can you really die from panic attack?

Well the answer is…NO!

Panic attack can NEVER kill you but most sufferers don’t believe that because of the terrifying symptoms they have experienced. I know that it can be difficult to accept. Suddenly, without any warning, your heart start racing, you have difficulty breathing, you feel dizzy, start trembling, and fear that something terrible is about to happen to you.

Without any prior knowledge of panic attack, its perfectly normal to feel afraid and fear that your going to die. However, you need to understand that this panic response is coming from you, and given enough time, they will eventually fade away by itself. These are the facts and the living prove is yourself! Despite all these “near-death” sensation, what happen in the end? You will ALWAYS be fine and so, panic attack can NEVER kill you.

Need more prove?

During panic attack, its very common to feel heart palpitation (extra heartbeat) and chest pain. The first instinctive thought that jumps straight into your mind is “Heart attack”, but is it? Obviously not! Without an existing heart condition, you cannot simply have a heart attack just like that. For the lack of a better term, sufferers just associate “Heart attack” to their symptoms, when its not!

The second most common symptoms is the fear of losing control. You start trembling and shaking badly. Instinctive, you start to think that your have a “Seizure” or “Stroke”, but is it? Obviously not! Without a history of epilepsy or medical condition, you cannot suffer from seizure or stroke just like that. Again, for the lack of a better term, sufferers just loosely associate their symptoms to “Seizure” or “Stroke”, when its not!

As you can see, there’s a perfectly logical explanation for every single symptoms of panic attack. The main thing you NEED to take note here is this: None of them can kill you or even harm you in anyway. You will ALWAYS be fine.

So…can you die from panic attack?

NO!

Depersonalization is the state of not feeling like one-self or feeling alienated from one’s own behavior, which is a mental disorder that distorts a person’s sense of reality. It creates a sense of being outside the body, and a feeling of watching oneself act, while having no control over a circumstance. According to the American Psychological Association, “Depersonalization (or depersonalisation) is a malfunction or anomaly of the mechanism by which an individual has self awareness. It is a feeling of watching oneself act, while having no control over a situation.”

Depersonalization and Derealization, two normal symptoms of anxiety disorder, are both ‘Dissociative disorders’ and sufferers of one can experience the other. Although very disturbing at times, they are completely harmless, and just parts of anxiety symptoms.

About more than 20% of the general population have had a transient experience of depersonalization. Often a person who has experienced depersonalization claims that life “feels like a movie” or things seem unreal or hazy or a recognition of self breaks down.

A typical manifestation of depersonalization is when the individual may be having a conversation with someone and suddenly feels alarmingly isolated and removed from the situation.

It has been said that depersonalization is caused by a shift in the part of the brain that provides us with a ‘real’ awareness of our environment. This part of the brain is directly linked to the Amygdala which is responsible for anxiety. The amygdala is pivotal in our processing and retention of emotion and fear reactions, which produces panic attacks because of learned behavior.

Some researcher also think depersonalization is caused by delayed perception. This slight delay between experience and thought can create a momentary sensation of unreality.

Do not let the thoughts sucker you into thinking you are alone and stuck with this feeling of depersonalization all your life. Those thoughts are not true. If you experience depersonalization, the best way to treat it is to assure yourself that everything is OK and you will be yourself soon. It takes a little practice but that change in attitude will make a big difference for you.

Fear can drive you into feeling spaced out and not in your body. If you site down and hold on to a solid object like a wooden table or something similar while you take deep breaths, you will soon feel like yourself.

Hardly anyone continues to feel depersonalized for very long. The more you can flow along with it and not react the more quickly you will return to feeling more yourself.

What most people don’t realize is that most panic attacks while sleeping are usually caused by stresses during the day. Of course there are other things that can trigger panic attacks at night, including dreams about traumatic events in your life, or subconscious worries that you may not even be aware of, that can come to the surface while you are sleeping.

While this is something that can have a dramatic effect on your life, tiredness even after sleeping, residual effects of your dreams, and many others can really be debilitating. There is help available from multiple sources, but there are some things you can do on your own to alleviate panic attacks while sleeping, and maybe preventing them altogether.

First and foremost, when stress is freaking you out, take a minute to calm yourself. There are many techniques that can be used for a nocturnal panic attack that can help a lot. One of them is through meditation and deep breathing techniques.

When you are panicked and stressed out your body becomes agitated, and therefore your body forces oxygenated blood to muscles and other areas of the body, to get ready for the fight or flight responses. Since there is really nothing there, you need a way to relieve your agitated state.

When you first wake up in a cold sweat, panicking, it will take a few minutes for your body to realize that it’s all right. Look around the room, ease your tension, it was only a dream. Take some deep breaths, draw on your meditation, and relax. Once your body has relaxed, it is time to relax your mind and thoughts.

This will be a little more difficult, but it can be done. Look around again, see that you are in a safe environment, and hold on to the reality that you are safe. If you have awakened from a scary dream, start keeping a dream log, and right down your dream as soon as you can. This can really help you later find out what is going on.

One of the ways to help you with panic attacks while sleeping is mind reprogramming. While this does sound like mind control, it is you that is taking charge of your mind. Look at how you react to things, think about why you react the way you do.

You may find that something in your past has made you react in the present. You need to try to address these fears or reactions, and know that they aren’t really occurring in the present, it is just a response to outside stimulus. Once you realize this you can begin to turn things around.

There are many resources online to help you. Some of these sites provide programs to help you change your thoughts and actions. Most of these sites can be quite helpful. It is also a good idea to speak with your doctor about other things they can suggest to help. Try to stay away from drugs or alcohol, because these can elevate panic attacks while sleeping, and often your reactions will be much worse.

Everyone that wants to get rid of anxiety must first recognize and find the anxiety signs and symptoms. Finding the root cause is one of the other major factors in treating this mental disorder. In fact, it’s the root cause that you need to treat, not only its symptoms. The most common anxiety signs and symptoms are: nervousness, dizziness, nausea and vomiting, chest pain and discomfort, hard breathing, racing heart beat, headaches, extreme fear (in panic attacks) and some patients even fear of death which in fact is pretty common in anxiety attacks.

The symptoms of panic attacks are very similar to the ones that people experience in heart strokes. You need be diagnosed first and then seek for an appropriate treatment. In most of the cases the patients arrive in the E. R. and they’re told that they suffer from an anxiety disorder and nothing is wrong with their heart. It has been proven that the actual fear of having another panic attack, especially in public places, is what triggers the next panic attack. Therefore, eliminating the fear of having another panic attack will increase your chances to completely treat yourself.

A rather unusual symptom in panic attacks are hallucinations. Even if not many people have reported to have hallucinations, they may happen. Usually panic attacks vary in their length and intensity — it depends from patient to patient. Recent studies on several thousands of patients that have reported panic attacks have shown that the majority of them managed to cure themselves using natural treatments.

In fact you might already know that medications are only a short time relief from tension and they’re not a way to cure anxiety completely.

If you are a person who has anxiety or panic attacks then you understand that panic attack medication is a way to use drugs to minimize or eliminate your anxiety symptoms. Of course we will assume you have already saw your doctor or have made arrangements to do so. The purpose of this article is to educate you on the available medications before your visit.

Benzodiazepine Medication

These drugs are commonly used for the relief of panic attack symptoms. Of course like any drug out there it does more then just one thing. It’s greatest benefit for relieving panic attacks is it’s ability to calm a person down. This in turn leads to minimizing or eliminating anxiety, agitation and ultimately anxiety attacks. Because they work fast they can be utilized to stop a current attack or “wave” of imminent attacks. They are not suited for long term use because they can lead to addiction or physical dependence.

SSRIs

Probably the second most prescribed drug for people suffering from anxiety and depression. Keep in mind that an above normal level of anxiety is what leads to panic attacks. These drugs help lessen anxiety and therefore panic attacks. Most doctors will use citalopram and paroxetine.

Drug Free Alternative

A relatively new therapy coined “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy” (cbt) is commonly referred to as the leading non drug treatment for panic attack sufferers. The idea behind this therapy is that panic attacks are caused by a fear of panic attacks occurring. If you remove the irrational fear then there is nothing left to cause the panic attack.

Cognitive behavioral therapy recognizes this medical concept which is also called a “positive forward feedback loop”. With CBT, you learn how to recognize the very early stages of your anxiety spiraling out of control.

With CBT you can modify your thinking at these early stages and apply rationality and eliminate exaggeration. Over time, your way of thinking is modified to that or a healthy person without panic.

A panic attack is basically defined by the medical community as a sudden or abrupt occurrence of intense fear that overcomes you for no obvious reason. This fear brings about some quite severe physical symptoms.

How can you tell if you are having a panic attack? Ask yourself the following:

Are you experiencing an episode of extreme fear or tremendous anxiety for no apparent reason?
Did this episode come on suddenly?

If so, are you experiencing two or more of the following symptoms?:

A Racing heart/Increased heart rate or awareness of your heart beating
Chest pain
Shortness of breath or an increased breathing pattern
Hyperventilation
Tightness in your throat
Sweating
Dizziness
Faintness
Chills
Trembling
Abdominal cramping
Nausea
Hot Flashes
Headache
Apprehension
Fear that you are having a heart attack
A feeling of impending doom or death
A dream-like or trance-like state
Fear of losing control
The feeling of a need to escape
Feeling of terror

If you are also experiencing two or more of those symptoms, you very well could be having a panic attack. It is even possible to be woken up from your sleep by one of these attacks.

An attack episode can last anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. In rare cases, it could even last for a whole day.

When the attack is over, you’ll probably feel worn out and fatigued as well as pretty upset. And, you’ll likely fear having another one.

So what should you do? Talk to a doctor or even a medical help line. Although these attacks usually don’t kill anyone, they still should be taken quite seriously. And if it’s something else you’re having, you need to know that too.

Anxiety is a normal physiological reaction to a situation where a person is stressed or feels danger. A panic attack is when a person has an unreasonable sense of danger and is certain that they will not make it through the attack, and ultimately they fear death. It is important to recognize a panic attack symptom so that you can tell the difference between normal anxiety and a full-blown panic attack.

A panic attack symptom could be a disabling fear, such as: feeling like you will die or go crazy, a racing heart, shaking or trembling, sweating profusely, cold chills or hot flashes, feeling like you are choking, feeling like you cannot get enough air, hyperventilating, dizziness (usually from hyperventilating), nausea, chest pain, or tingling sensations in the fingers and toes. However, symptoms could be minor, and may not even be obvious to someone that a person in the same room is having an attack.

If anxiety becomes excessive and difficult to control, it may facilitate panic attacks. A person may have no idea when an attack is about to occur. They will suddenly start to suffer all of the symptoms without warning. The attack may last a few seconds or a few minutes. It could be an isolated attack, or there may be several repeated occurrences over the course of the day.

It usually depends on the situation that the person is in — if a person has a great deal of stress and impending doom about a place, person, or thing, and then they are suddenly presented with that “trigger,” the “fight or flight” response kicks in and takes control. This is when the brain signals to that a person is in danger and prepares him to defend himself, or to run away from danger. If a person is facing a great deal of stress or depression on a regular basis, panic attacks can be more frequent.

Many people who live with a panic disorder also have anticipatory anxiety. This is when a person anticipates fear, anxiety and dreads the thought of an upcoming situation. Most people with a disorder will go untreated for years.

There are many reasons people do not seek assistance. A person may seek help from their doctor and not fully disclose all of the symptoms they are experiencing. Without all of the information, a doctor can easily misdiagnose their patient. Research has shown that doctors recognize a panic disorder in less tha 1000 n half of their patients who actually have the condition.

Many patients who have a problem have avoidance behaviors and may not even consult a doctor. This can lead to the patient feeling like they have no options for treatment. Many people will turn to drugs, or alcohol, to self medicate and this will magnify their problems.

If you experience a panic attack symptom, it is important to seek treatment and follow through to make sure that you have been properly diagnosed. There are many options available to help you deal with this debilitating condition including therapy, medications and self-help options.

It is also very helpful to have a supportive network of family and friends, do not try to hide your situation, look for support and openly communicate about your problem, this can help relieve some of the stress that may be exacerbating the situation.

If you have ever suffered from a panic attack you will know just how devastating they can be and this is an illness that many people who have never experienced an attack just don’t understand. This disorder can be very frustrating and can lead to relationship breakdowns and even depression.

At first, panic attacks are triggered by a feeling of apprehension that gradually gets worse over time and will eventually lead to an attack. It can come on quite suddenly and there does not need to be any particular reason for it to begin.

Because panic attacks are very intense they are quite scary and unfortunately once a person suffers such an attack, they are usually quite fearful of another one happening and this fear in itself can bring on further episodes.

Panic disorder can range from quite mild symptoms to quite intense physical symptoms.

Panic attacks symptoms can include:

Feeling dizzy
Shortness of breath
Excessive perspiration
Feeling nauseated
Hyperventilation
Fast heart beat
Trembling and shaking
Feeling cold and shivery

Different people may experience different symptoms and also a difference in severity of symptoms. Generally if you experience four or more of these symptoms then you are thought to have had a full blown panic attack.

Attacks may last for just a few minutes, and for others they may last much longer. Often after such an episode, once the symptoms have faded, there may still be a feeling of anxiety for a couple of days.

A person will often feel drained and exhausted, both physically and mentally, after an attack as the physical symptoms that the body experiences will leave you tired and drained of all energy.

The good news is that there is help available and you can overcome panic attacks completely.

Panic attacks information is important for every individual because they can happen at any time and under many random circumstances. Though panic attacks information indicates that they make the victim feel alone, they can occur even when the victim has adequate company, in familiar or unfamiliar surroundings, and even during sleep. As per panic attacks information, the typical symptoms include a faster heart rate resulting in more blood flow and consequent reddening of the face, choking, nausea, fear, and lack of physical and emotional self-control.

The level of fear during a panic attack is extremely high and this fear causes many reflex actions in the body that are not always controllable. Due to the high heart rate, many people mistakenly assume a panic attack to be a heart attack and rush to emergency rooms claiming that they can no longer breathe. Men and women are both affected though the proportion of women happens to be slightly higher. People who ignore panic attacks information are likely to develop a persistent condition that leads to panic disorder.

These attacks have the potential to temporarily disable a person and are quite harmful in the long run, knowledge about panic attacks information can help to avoid that situation. Stress or even nerves can cause panic attacks but they must not be confused with stress or a case of nerves. Those are causative agents and not the affliction itself. Panic attacks are curable before they progress to the panic disorder stage when recovery becomes prolonged and difficult. There are several techniques employed by different practitioners who help to fix this problem on the basis of panic attacks information. Some common treatments include therapy, medication, breathing and relaxation exercises, and so on.

While panic attacks do not follow any timetables, it has been studied that on an average a panic attack will occur suddenly, reach its peak in a period of no longer than ten minutes, and will stay at that stage for approximately half an hour. However, panic attacks information indicates that sometimes, depending on several factors, the attack may last from a few hours to even a whole day. After a panic attack subsides, the patient is left feeling weak and discharged, as if recovering from a long illness.

There are many health conc 1000 erns that can lead to panic attacks. People who have conditions like heart disease, thyroid malfunction, withdrawal from medication, and so on, are at a greater risk of suffering from panic attacks. Besides physical conditions, certain mental conditions like depression, stress, tension, and various types of phobia are also associated with panic attacks. It must be noted that though many factors are associated with panic attacks, the bodily mechanism leading up to a panic attack is not yet clear. So while heredity, disease, phobia, and stress are all well identified reasons for panic attacks, it is not certain how they actually cause the attacks.

Because panic attacks information says so much about fear, it is assumed that a panic attack is the body’s natural defense against fear without any visible or apparent reason for fear. People reacting to fear display the same symptoms as witnessed in most panic attacks.

Pregnancy for women is nature’s boon to them. It is a specialty which their counterpart (male) can not share. Pregnancy is one of the most joyous moments of any woman’s life! But, when panic attacks occur during pregnancy it becomes not just a bad experience but also a very dangerous experience for both mother and baby!

Within society, panic attacks are nothing unusual, in fact they can be very common and are suffered by many people nowadays, some more severe than others. Now during pregnancy this common condition/situation can be extremely dangerous for both mother and baby and is a completely different ball game.

Panic attacks while pregnant can result from the immense stress and anxiety that occurs during pregnancy. It is natural because at this time the stimulative hormone ‘serotonin’ is produced in large quantities. So, during pregnancy a woman comes under influence of panic attacks in two ways – first the natural secretion of the hormone and second, anticipated fear.

So, bearing a baby and suffering from panic attacks can make the situation dangerous. So here are some crucial tips you can follow to help with avoiding panic attacks while pregnant!

1. Practice Breathing Exercises – When you are feeling nervous, it is advised to put your hand over the stomach and take deep slow breaths. Expand and compress your stomach softly while inhaling and exhaling. By doing these exercises you can relieve your stress and worries. Try to do this on a regular basis to help avoid attacks surfacing!

2. A Healthy Balanced Diet – You must pay attention to your diet as you are not only feeding yourself but also your baby. Your diet should contain more fruits and green vegetables as they are easily digestible and above all, essential elements required by the body during pregnancy. These foods contain chemicals which are helpful in controlling panic attacks during pregnancy. You should also include protein in your diet like egg white, meat, fish etc. This will enable you to keep your diet balanced!

3. Plenty Of Sleep – Pregnant women are advised to rest and take ample sleep during their pregnancy period. A research, titled ‘Curing Illness by means of Sleeping’ reveals that good sleep can cure many ailments in 1000 cluding stress related ailments. The body gets the opportunity to heal by itself, and no medicine can compete with this healing technique.

4. Maintain Balance – You should maintain balanced behavior to avoid panic attacks during pregnancy. Control your emotions – be it positive or negative. Over joy or depression is dangerously harmful during pregnancy. Try to refrain from anything that is associated with extreme emotion.

The best thing you can do to avoid panic attacks while pregnant is – eat healthy, sleep well and think positive. Maintaining this type of attitude is hugely important and will help you cope with panic attacks and ultimately avoid them while pregnant!

According to an estimate, more than 5% of the American population is suffering from some type of anxiety disorder. An anxiety disorder is nothing but an advanced development in people who initially suffered from panic attacks. Overcoming panic attacks means first recognizing the onset of these attacks.

Once you know that you are about to have panic attacks, or you find yourself in situations, which, through experience, you know are going to lead there, you are better prepared to deal with them. The trick is to assess a coming panic attack a lot sooner than when you already know that any second you are going to be out of breath, scared out of your wits, and generally helpless for a few moments.

Overcoming panic attacks is quite easy though it may be a confusing initially. The key is to distract your mind by focusing it on other things when you feel a panic attack coming on. Do not rely on spontaneity, as it is useless in overcoming panic attacks. Prepare in advance, so you are ready when the time comes and to this end, make a list of the possible things that work for you to distract yourself. What you need is positive reinforcement, so include a lot of positive messages and involve items that usually calm you down when your excitement gets out of control.

Remember that overcoming panic attacks is all about controlling your fear because the primary emotion associated with panic attacks is fear. The other symptoms like breathlessness and tunnel vision are all physical in nature. The more you prepare yourself to face panic attacks the easier they will be to overcome and eventually avoid.

The first noticeable symptom of panic attacks is shortness of breath or choking. For overcoming panic attacks, practice breathing exercise that will help you to retain control of normal breathing when you have your next attack. This will result in a huge improvement of all the other symptoms that follow. Make sure that you have a plan in place so that you do not fail to follow up on your breathing exercises in moments of panic. Having a plan for each symptom will help you to focus on what is happening to you and what you need to do with a view to overcoming panic attacks. If you know and can convince yourself that you are not having an uncontrollable cardiac arrest then you are well on your way to overcoming panic attacks. Panic attacks increase your 1000 panic and fear, and any trouble with your breathing will lead you to the worst conclusions when you are not in control.

Apart from breathing, the important thing about overcoming panic attacks is to know how to relax. Like breathing exercises, there are exercises that can help you practice how to relax yourself in moments of panic. In case you have difficulties in learning either type of exercise then just contact a professional.

Write down the list of distractions that work for you and always keep a copy on your person. It is not enough to keep it in your head when clarity of thought is lost during panic attacks.

Panic attacks also known as anxiety disorder or anxiety attacks. It is a mental condition caused by severe levels of stress and anxiety. People experiencing panic attacks usually have symptoms ranging from nervousness, increased heart rate, social phobia, dizziness, lack of sleep, feeling of having a heart attack etc.

Causes of Panic Attacks:
It is important to understand that panic attacks or panic disorders are not a physical ailment. A lot of people confuse this to be something wrong with their body and start taking treatments and medications.

Every one has certain levels of anxiety in their day to day functioning. It is when these anxiety levels soar beyond acceptable levels that it results in panic attacks. Anxiety is a natural phenomenon that is meant to protect us from possible dangers. It is our survival mechanism which triggers the fight/flight stimulation and sends that adrenaline rush. Unfortunately, sometimes due to our past experiences and the way we have related to things and situations, our mind tends to perceive a relatively harmless situation to be a potential danger and thus triggers the physical sensations like increased heart rate etc.

A lot of people resort to medications and drugs to get treatment for their panic attacks. Unfortunately, this is a wrong method as drugs can only give temporary relief from the physical symptoms and does nothing to treat the root cause of panic attacks or its prevention in future. Further, it leads to severe addiction and causes more anxiety and panic in a long term than the actual panic attack itself.

The first step in treating a panic attack is the understanding that it is caused by the mind and that the panic attacks are not a physical ailment. Now, you need to treat the root cause of this treatment by meeting anxiety and panic attack in its tracks instead of delving on the symptoms and always playing catch.

The right way to cure panic attacks is to meet anxiety at its tracks and not give in to it by treating the symptoms. Joe Barry teaches a method called One Move method, which when applied will put you on course of getting rid of panic attacks forever in quick time without any medication.

Panic attacks are identified by the sudden onset of brief periods of distress and fear. Visible symptoms of panic attacks include shortness of breath, trembling, palpitations, nausea, sweating, dizziness, tingling, hyperventilation, smothering, and choking. Frequently occurring panic attacks for no conceivable reason are indications of panic disorder though it must be noted that there are several types of anxiety disorders that might also lead to frequent panic attacks.

A common example is people who have a problem of phobias. Their fear-triggers can easily lead to panic attacks. Many people who have panic attacks also report that during the attack they feel like they are dying or losing control of their senses (especially emotions and rational thought). The primary reaction to panic attacks is a deep and uncontrollable desire to remove oneself from the place and situation where the attack began. The feeling of helplessness at the hands of fate and a sense of impending doom and fear of death are heightened by the shortness of breath (translated as inability to breathe) and tunnel vision.

Panic attacks are not rare and most people are going to experience them occasionally, especially during periods of high anxiety. Quite often, panic attacks will be inexplicable to the person suffering them and this often leads people into concluding that something is wrong with them though in actual case, people simply fail to connect their everyday lives to potentials of panic attacks. Different people suffer different range of panic attacks, from a few minutes to a few hours, and the frequency and tendency of panic attacks also varies accordingly.

The experts who study panic attacks are of the opinion that the attacks are a result of excessive adrenaline in the blood that leads to palpitations. Adrenaline stimulates our senses and under emergencies, it enables our body to function at higher-than-normal efficiency. However, under normal circumstances all that extra blood and adrenaline lead to adverse side effects that are known as panic attacks. When the human body faces an emergency, it takes the body about 3 minutes to respond, until then everything is, as they say, in your head. During these 3 minutes, the adrenal glands produce enough adrenaline to get us going but then they have to stop or the person goes into adr 1000 enaline shock. Panic attacks result when our bodies receive false signals that trigger the adrenal glands. There is no physical emergency (most causes are psychological, like fear) and yet our bodies try to respond as if there were.

The key to avoiding panic attacks is relaxation, especially when you are feeling anxious or you are afraid of some event that is about to happen. That thrill you feel in a horror movie, always waiting for something to pop out and scare you, is the adrenaline at work. In real life, when you suspect yourself getting close to the edge, just relax and try to calm your mind and body. Deep breathing is recommended because it lowers the heart rate. Another good way is to curb your negative thoughts and feelings, focus more on the positive sides of life. Treating panic attacks is essential because neglecting to do so can lead to advanced problems like agoraphobia.

Panic attacks are cured using medication or psychotherapy, or a combination of both, as required.
